Whatever electrical system you chose, you’ll need a cord to connect electricity between the towed vehicle and the motorhome.
ROADMASTER’s are the best — the wires are water-, oil- and chemical-resistant, and the plugs are injected with silicone to prevent corrosion. Use a straight cord kit for ROADMASTER All Terrain tow bars. This cord is for the electrical connection between the motorhome and towed vehicle. This cord is used on coaches with a standard 7-way plug connecting to a towed vehicle that requires a 4 wire system. You need these cords so that the lights on the towed vehicle can be operated from the motorhome. Lighting is required by law in most states.
How are the sockets wired?
This wiring kit is designed to connect a motorhome with a standard 7-way socket to a towed car or truck. Although we've wired the 7-way plug to code, that does not mean that your RV has been wired the same. Use a test light to verify that the plug and socket wiring matches before connecting.
