 | The La Crosse WS-7014CH-GB, a great gadget to mount on an RV, enclosed porch, or outdoor deck by the beach, this battery-powered wireless station forecasts your local weather for easier planning and is about the size of a remote control. The LCD is divided into five areas of information to provide a full picture of the weather. The station reports the humidity for indoor locations and the temperature in Fahrenheit and Celsius for both indoor and outdoor locations using a remote sensor. For more accurate outdoor readings, the base unit can receive information from up to three different sensors, which can each be placed up to 80 feet away. A forecast icon on the LCD displays weather predictions based on changing air pressure and is about 75 percent accurate for any 12- to 20-hour time period. The device also has a clock with a 12- or 24-hour time mode and dual alarms with snooze. For precise time-keeping, the gadget has a built-in antenna system that receives signals from the WWVB radio transmitter in Fort Collins, Colorado, which is in turn is regulated by the atomic clock. The wireless temperature station requires two AAA batteries for the receiver and comes with one remote sensor, which requires two AA batteries. Transmitter can easier be placed in the refridgerator to monitor temperature too. | |
