The unit comes with its own fire box sections: Four (4) fire box sides and a bottom ash pan. It will accommodate 16 inch oak logs or a 12 inch "dutch oven" or smaller. Can be used by itself assembled with four hitch clips (supplied) for a instant fire ring for river rafting trips, etc.
Cooking and charcoal grate equal 210 sq. in. each.
The unit's folding parts, the hinges and rivets, are made of 303 stainless steel.

The convenience of a campfire wherever you want one, 10.19.2008
My wife and I bought a Pit-2-Go years ago This is one of the best camping conveniences that we have ever had. We carry the instant logs like Duraflame when we just want a fire for warmth and ambiance. It is not recommended to use these for cooking over so we also carry conventional wood for cooking over. Nothing beats a fire to sit around on a cool evening. This item is a winner!
Purchase my unit ten years ago in Quartsite,AZ. Been using it ever since with no issues at all. Great design and very useful. The accessories are great and I use them all the time.
